THE DUEL OF THE FATES

Imagine a giant colosseum, complete with sand floored fighting pit. This is the arena where the warriors of the Crimson Battlefield will compete to determine the mightiest original champion of them all!
The fighters have somehow been shanghaied by the Xians and conscripted to compete against each other. Not EVERY Crimson Battlefield character is included, particularly newly created ones or those with incomplete profiles available.

The Crimson Battlefield has grown from a small topic that came up in General Chat to a forum where battles of virtually any kind can take place. Because of the unparalleled freedom and versatility the Republic of Roostville enjoys, as much variety in entertainment as its citizens want encouraged them to create just about any character they could imagine.
Many fine combatants and narratives of battles waged resulted, from sword-swinging rangers to gun-toting gangsters and fire-breathing dragons. Your hosts, the Dark Lords (with a little help from the Xians, who will serve as the "talent" wranglers) wished to exploit this love of blazing showdowns, swashbuckling swordfights and titanic monsters duking it out that dates back to the time of the ancient Roman gladiators. In that fine tradition, the contestants had no choice in who they fought and when. They were well cared for aboard specially equipped Xian spacecraft which brought them to the venue as needed. Upon completion of a battle, the winner (or in the case of a tie when both contestants received the same number of votes or the TIE option prevailed) was tractor beamed back aboard the assigned ship and returned to a secure staging area until the next contest. Any attempt to escape the arena would result in instant annihilation, courtesy of the Xians and/or the Dark Lords.

1. Each Fight had a voting poll which was open for at least one week. Anyone could vote and discuss the match-up. Unlike the Crimson Battlefield competitions, fighters could use ALL their posted resources in these matches as some might be "out classed" otherwise. Links to their past battles were included.

2. VOTES AND DISCUSSION WERE TO BE BASED ON THE CONTESTANTS' PROFILE, PREVIOUS FIGHTS AND INFORMATION PROVIDED. The combatants' profiles were posted, along with links to previous battles. Other information could also be referenced from The Sidelines and Crimson Battlefield Origins. THE CONTESTANTS WERE NOT TO BE ENDOWED WITH ATTRIBUTES THEY DID NOT ALREADY HAVE ESTABLISHED.

3. If two fighters tied, they both continued in the eliminations. Since choosing winners was based on what had already been posted, character's "managers" didn't have to actively participate but were welcome to highlight particular "counter attacks"/defenses available in the Profiles.

4. As the eliminations continued, efforts were made so contestants did not repeat match-ups with opponents they had already faced in the regular Crimson Battlefield fights.

Sheema (18.5-9.5) drew the BYE. Should Onyx prevail, they will compete for the CHAMPIONSHIP. Should Miyako Aso win, she and Sheema will be declared CO-CHAMPIONS, having fought to a 1-1 DRAW with 3 TIE votes cast in Round Five.
