Seeing that the Fanfiction section of the Crimson Battlefield was a bit, umm, dry, I took matters into my own hands and started working on a story that had been boiling in my head for quite some time now. Edge goes to London with the job to slay a werewolf.
So far, it's off to a somewhat slow start, but I promise some nice action and a plot twist or two to keep people reading. If people like this, I plan on making a series of more short stories where Edge deals with other supernatural forces, such as a Cockatrice, a real manmade Frankenstein, a Vampire cult, and maybe even an entire haunted house!
Lord Jimifulss - Looks great so far. I really like the way you've devided it up into short segments when jumping from scene to scene. I can already tell this story is gonna kick ass. Keep up the good work.
Bato-Goji - The story is pretty good so far, Edge's psychic powers are really cool showing him what happened to the homeless man. I look forward to reading more, Werewolves have always been my favourite supernatural creatures.
Ubergeek - Fine work so far, MZ. May I offer one suggestion: perhaps before the Final Confrontation™, Edge runs across/tracks down our lycanthrope in his/her human form. This person, unable to remember what they've done under the moon's spell, has no idea (as yet, anyhow) why our hero's on their case. While that unpleasant fact won't sway Edge from what has to be done, it might make things more interesting by (1) adding some character to Wolfy, and (2) creating a slight internal conflict for Edge. Just a rather overdone thought.
Ah, and do proceed with these additional tales you speak of...I'd especially like to see how Edge deals with a Cockatrice. If it retains that little 'see it and die' power described in the legends, the bugger could easily pose a problem for the most hardcore of monster-hunters...
Metal Zombie - Actually, Ubergeek, this is a different kind of Werewolf. I figured it'd be neater if it didn't just attack during full moons, otherwise he wouldn't be as huge of a threat as he is now. And don't worry, Wolfy will have some character to him, just not the way you might be expecting...
Ubergeek - Oh...no problem there. I like the extra threat a non-calendar-restricted lycanthrope poses...reminds me of the original Howling, where the main characters/prey were being chased around in broad daylight, among other things. Characterize away!

To help get things off to a better start here at the new home of the Crimson Battlefield, I finally got off of my ass and continued working on my story. So check it out and tell me what you think. Not much happened, but Edge is about to come to a stunning revelation...
